Do you Coaches have any drills for 1-2-1 (diamond) defensive Zonal system. My players seem to get dragged out from this shape/formation in the heat of the moment.

Hi Simon, the zonal defense is a system based on controlling the space, not necessarily staying in the shape of a diamond, In fact more often they end up on a square formation if defending low or in a 2-1-1 shape when pressing. It takes time to build up this systems as it requires a lot of experience from each player individually. Here is a playlist of some defensive exercises.
